So I'm taking a visual development class. This is my second time doing it, and I'm kind of excited for it, because the art style we'll probably be going with is more challenging for me. Anyways, the first assignment is doing grayscale value studies of film noir-era works. I looked through Citizen Kane, Psycho, Laura, Twilight Zone, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. I'm gonna look through some more after this.
Also, I'm taking environment sketching. I'm supposed to draw up a medieval town. I'm kind of on the fence about this class, because I feel very incompetent and I sort of want to take figure drawing classes with this other instructor, but it's at the same time (and different schools), so I have to decide whether I want to do this class, or focus on drawing the figure better. I'll probably just stick to this one, because I tricked my professor into thinking my work is good, ha ha! And because at least I'll have a better experience with drawing up environments? I don't know.. We'll see next week.
Medieval building silhouettes
Hah, what a difference between this cleaner one and the rough.
