rusty art: hero in training spitpaint

Topic for daily spitpaint was hero in training. I wanted to do a young boy fighting against some witch who kidnaps his sisters or something. Need to work on posing...

really rusty with executing ideas

I've been super rusty with executing ideas, for anything! I have some prop designs to think about, but I'm losing focus/motivation, which I think is partly because I've been afraid of having half-baked ideas posted. So I'm gonna try starting a thing where I just post shitty art attempts. For today, I tried to think about a daily spitpaint topic--cloak of colors. Usually, I'd go for a pretty lady with a colorful cloak, but I wanted a different story told, so I thought about maybe a creepy lady who marks her cloak with blood or something. But I'm super nervous and rusty and sucky, and my legs keep itchin' here :PP

So this is all I can come up with.

I wanted to think about shapes and notan more. My friend does her illustrations with organizing shapes of monochromatic tones, but I haven't done that in forever. God am I rusty. Even using the lasso tool feels uncomfortable. -1/3/18

Nocturne Plein Air

Probably one of my favorite ones so far. Tried a nocturne study outside my house by the side door of the garage. So cold, but soooooo fun. I hope to do more of these.
